Rare Victorian seed pearl and black enamel 18k yellow gold mourning ring. The shank is highly stylized with an open scroll work design.
Mourning jewellery was rather popular during the Georgian and Victorian Era. Often including black enamel work (white if the departed was a child), human hair to eternalize the soul of the lost loved one, and pearls used to symbolize the tears of those grieving.
