This late Victorian 10k yellow gold starburst is adorned with lustrous light gray seed pearls and can been worn as either a pendant or a brooch. Bail is hinged rotates and can been moved down so it is not seen when sporting it as a brooch.
Across a multitude of religions the twelve point star or dodecagram has been used as symbol representing the twelve tribes of Israel, in Judaism, and the twelve disciples, in Christianity.

Wings are ornamented in bright shades of red, blues, pink, coral, and purple done in the plique-à-jour (translucent enamel) technique. The articulated moving wings are so finely made that they are able to stand in place on their own. Our hearts fluttered when this special specimen flew into the store!
Singed 'Birks' and dates from the 1970's. Enamel work is in impeccable condition.
