ESTATE JEWELLERY, SILVER AND FINE ART SINCE 1972

Antique Belle-Époque Diamond and Platinum Brooch/Pendant

$17,900.00

The movement known as Edwardian in Great Britain was known as the Belle-Époque (beautiful era) in France. Jewelry was designed to reflect the neoclassical and rococo motifs of the 18th Century French courts. Imaging palaces such as Versailles we can see where jewelers got their inspiration from.

This exquisite hand-made diamond platinum pendant/brooch is distinguished by its use of garlands and decorations of foliate motifs. A laurel garland of near-colorless sparkling white diamonds wraps around the perimeter of the oval piece showcasing the three center diamonds. Skillfully hand-made openwork, milgrain, and filigree edging throughout.

Scintillating with over three hundred diamonds one can just imagine the dramatic effect it had in the candlelit ballrooms of the time. This masterpiece of craftsmanship est tout simplement magnifique!
