Light and delicate bead and millegrain work ornament this doughnut shaped brooch. Adorned with sparkling rose cut diamonds, seed pearls, and a translucent clear quartz backing. It is an exceptional example from the French Belle Époque era (circa 1880).
The movement known as Edwardian in Great Britain was known as the Belle Époque (beautiful era) in France. Jewelry was designed to reflect the neoclassical and rococo motifs of the 18th Century French courts. Imaging palaces such as Versailles - we can see where jewelers got their inspiration from.
