Born in 1931, he grew up in Switzerland and trained as a jeweller and a diamond setter. In the early 50’s Schluep moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada and soon became recognized for his skills as a diamond setter. He has worked along side some notable jewellers and artists such as Gabriel Lucas, George Delrue, Hans Gehrig while exhibiting extensively. Winner of many prestigious awards, Walter Schluep has had a great influence on art and culture in Montreal as an avant-garde artist and sculptor and is recognized worldwide for his impact on the Modernist and Art Moderne Movement. He has recently left us and will be forever missed.
A stunning one of a kind creation by the late Walter Schluep (1931-2016). This versatile pendant necklace in 18 karat yellow gold is set with diamonds on one side and a single pearl on the reverse and can be worn both ways.
Diamonds: There are four prong set round brilliant cut diamonds measuring between 2.0 mm - 2.7 mm in diameter with an estimated total diamond weight of 0.20 ct., estimated VVS-VS quality and F/G colour.
Pearl: A single Akoya pearl is set inside the pendant on the reverse side measuring approximately 3.5 mm in diameter.
